The length of registration depends. It has not been proven but many SEO consultants do believe that having a longer length of registration does help improve your SEO score slightly. Generally this would be determined by if a registration for www.Pizza.com was bought for just one year may not hold as much ranking as www.pizza.com that is bought for a period of 5 to 10 years in time.

Now this has to do with just the domain not the hosting. Your hosting plan can vary with providers. Meaning you could purchase a domain via GoDaddy and have your website hosted on HostGator’s.

According to an article by Matt Cutt an engineer with Google his emphasis is that domain registration length shouldn’t be worried too much. What matters though is the quality of your website hands down we are still looking at the content of your materials regardless of 4-5 year domains compared to those that are 1-2 years.
